"You got a whole slew of artists nowadays trying to land that '80s sound. I'm not saying that's bad since this decade was truly a milestone in musical innovation and composition. Although many may focus on the form, the substance, unfortunately, oftentimes gets overlooked -- resulting in songs which sound like like they came from the '80s, and nothing more. Indeed, this decade had its generous share of very talented songwriters whose main focus was simply put -- the song. This focus on songwriting resulted in a treasure trove of songs truly worth listening to. So here's my list of timeless '80s songs -- songs which, if listened to today, might sound like they hail from a parallel universe.
